The Spoon Theory
I posted something the other day about living with a chronic illness. I actually thought that this article did an even better job of explaining me and my life and the choices I make that affect my friends, my family, and the people around me. I do 'spoon math' in my head constantly, every moment I'm awake.I hope that you'll take a few minutes to read The Spoon Theory. It would mean a lot to me for you to understand :)

If you ever run out and feel like you could use an an extra spoon, I'll be there and use one of mine for you. What a great analogy - really powerful.
An interesting and helpful way to look at chronic losses in one's life. I think seniors also have to do this a bit as aging progresses.
Thanks for sharing - I thought of my parents when I read this.
I really like this analogy. Is it still a copyright infringement if we just tell the story verbally? Do you think the number of spoons you start out with in the morning is the same as your pain level 1-10? When do you get your new supply of spoons? Magically at 2:00 a.m.? Is it according to how your night went? Throw in being the mother of a baby and that theory is kaput. You can plan and figure out when and where you will use your spoons but now it's dependent on baby's needs and schedule and then realize you have no spoons left. That's when you ask others for their spoons - the ones who have extra ones in their cutlery trays :) thank God for those spoons...
Good article. Helps me understand more.
