The Curious Navel
Hey, sexy blog-reading mamas... Should my belly button be popping out by now? I keep on reading that it *should* have happened by the middle/end of my second trimester... And while I'm fully aware that - when you're pregnant - normal is whatever you are, I'm curious about when it happened for other people. Thanks!Labels: Baby Talk

Mine never popped - hallelujah, since Shane thinks it's kind of a weird phenomenon.
Mine just stretched and flattened out to a shallow soup bowl-like appearance. You are so very correct in saying normal is whatever you are.
Sweeeet... Except that now you got my hopes up! (It's super-weird.)
Mine never popped out. thank goodness. I was glad, figured it was just another odd thing happening ot your body...
Mine didn't pop either...it just got extremely shallow.
Mine never popped out either.
What the heck?! I'm hereby ignoring all sentences in pregnancy books that begin with the words 'by now, you should...'
:)
Mine never did : ) Happy for that because then the crazy scar running down the length of my big belly would have looked even stranger!
Mine didn't pop out either but I got this weird star stretch mark coming from where I used to have a belly-button ring. That was definitely NOT in any of the books I read. Be prepared to expect the unexpected from your body...I just learned to laugh about it.
Hey Lindsay, Mine waited until the ninth month to pop out. Consider yourself lucky if it does not. I had to wear a bandaid on it for two reasons. It would get sore from rubbing on clothing and I was a little shy to show it off.
Mine never popped either, it disappeared. It became a tiny pin prick of a hole. I always had a tiny cute little belly button. Since the days of mine disappearing, things have definitely changed about it.
No book could possibly cover everything that may or may not, should or shouldn't happen to your body during pregnancy. The fun part is asking people weird stuff like you just did. Cute.
The books just say that to make all the people freaked out feel better. Mine never popped. Never really even got close, or so I thought until I was done being preggo and it sunk in much farther than I remember it being.
Oh, and the good news is AFTER the baby comes, nothing is EVER normal again. :)
ok, so apparently after reading all the comments, i'm the abnormal one b/c mine popped out by five months
